Classic Salmon Flies by Hakan Karsnaser

Classic salmon flies are both beautiful and challenging. Many consider tying them to be the pinnacle of fly tying craftsmanship. As you see here Hakan has certainly well on his way to reaching this fly tying summit. The first pattern is The Baron and the second is the Sir Richard.

Wally Nowak

Wally Nowak from Meaford, ON, CA ties lovely flies like this one at fly tying shows for the enjoyment and instruction of all who are interested. As you can see Wally has learned his craft well. This fly is his version of a reduced Jock Scott tied Spey style.

Damsel Fly Adults by Gary Borger

Gary designed these two versions of the adult damsel fly a couple of decades ago as easy to tie, imitative, floating fly patterns. Where these insects are common the fish that share the water with them will at times, take them with serious gusto. The first is a fully matured adult of a common color pattern and the second is the teneral, or early hatched, adult before full color transformation.
