Recipe:

Hook:               Partridge Bartleet or Alec Jackson, size to suit
Thread:              Gudebröd black 6/0
Tag:                  Flat silver tinsel, long
Body:               Black bear underfur in a dubbing loop
Spey hackle:     Arctic fox guard hairs dyed blue
Wings:              Jungle Cock tied horizontally on each side and half body & tag length
1st Collar:         Guinea dyed blue, a bit shorter than Arctic fox
2nd Collar:         Schlappen dyed blue, a bit shorter than 1st collar
3rd Collar:         Schlappen dyed black a bit longer than 2nd collar
Head:               Gudebröd black 6/0

 Tying Instructions:

 1.         Mount hook and attach the thread to close the return wire wrapping back two thirds of the distance to the hook point.

 2.         Attach the flat silver tinsel and wrap back to a point over the hook point and then return to the tie in point and tie off.

 3.         Form a dubbing loop and insert the black underfur from a black bear and spin the loop to produce a shaggy rough                 dubbing, wrap the dubbing forward to just behind the end of the return wire and tie off.

 4.         Prepare one or more small bunches of Arctic Fox fur by removing all of the underfur and short guard hair, tie down and                 distribute around the hook shank to form a Spey type hair hackle sweeping back past the end of the hook.

 5.         Tie in a large jungle cock eye on each side of the fly so they sweep back along the hook shank. Tie them in by the bare                 stem at the first white enamel point from the butt of the stem. The eyes are selected so with this tie in point on the feather                 the tip of the feather reaches to center of the fly body or a bit beyond.

 6.         Tie in a Guinea feather dyed blue having a fiber length about three quarters the length of the Arctic Fox, use about 3 turns,                 keep it sparse.

 7.         Tie in a Schlappen feather dyed blue having a fiber length about one half to three quarters that of the Guinea feather collar,                 again use only about 3 turns of hackle.

 8.         Tie in a cock hackle dyed black having a length longer than the blue Schlappen feather and shorter than the Guinea feather,                 use 4 to 6 wraps to provide a dark front on the fly.

 9.         Form a proportionally sized head of the black thread, whip finish, cement, and varnish.
