Wing:                           Natural Grey Squirrel Tail

Body:                           Purple Berlin Wool Yarn
Hackle:                        Bright Red Coq or Schalppen
Head:                           Gudebröd 6/0, BCS 118 Black

 Tying Instructions:

 1.         Mount hook and attach the thread slightly behind the eye.

2.        Select a small bunch of natural Grey Squirrel tail, cut it from the tail and clean out the underfur and short hairs. Mount the hair
between the hook shank and the return wire with the tips facing forward over the hook eye. Bring the thread to the rear of the
hair bunch by passing underneath the hook shank and tie down the butts of the hair which are cut in a taper before tying the
butt ends down to make a smoother looking body.

3.        Mount the medium oval gold tinsel rib here butting against the wing buts and wrap the working thread back to the point of the
hook tying down the rib on the underside of the hook shank.

 2.       Tie in a tail of bright yellow hackle barbs.

 3.       Tie in the purple Berlin wool and bring the working thread forward to slightly behind the wing leaving just enough room to tie
in and wrap 3 to 4 turns of the hackle.

5.        Wrap the Berlin wool forward in touching turns to the working thread and cut off the excess.

6.        Wrap the rib forward in 5 turns to the front of the body and cut off the excess.

7.        Tie in the hackle by the tip and fold it so that as it is wrapped in it points towards the rear of the fly. Tie off and cut off the
           excess.

8.        Bring the thread to the front of the wing by passing under the hook shank. Fold the wing back over the fly body and build a
proportional head against the front of the wing to hold it at the desired angle.

9.        Apply a penetrating head cement and when dry apply Sally Hansen Hard As Nails as a glossy top coat.
